Coaching and club fitting for women who want to learn, improve, and enjoy the game with confidence.
Golf should feel welcoming, rewarding, and genuinely fun. It should not feel intimidating, overly technical, or built around assumptions that do not fit the player in front of you.
The Belief
Golf can be one of the most enjoyable and rewarding games in the world. It can also be one of the most needlessly intimidating, mostly because too many people have worked very hard to make it look exclusive, confusing, and weirdly unwelcoming.
We prefer a better version.
Girls Can Golf is built around a simple belief: women and girls deserve coaching and club fitting that starts with the player, respects individuality, and makes improvement feel possible. Whether you are picking up a club for the first time, returning to the game after years away, or trying to move from decent golf to genuinely good golf, the process should meet you where you are.
No talking down to you. No assumptions about ability. No "ladies' clubs" being handed over as if gender alone is a fitting plan. Just thoughtful coaching, proper fitting, and a clear path to better golf.
Coaching
Good coaching is not about trying to make every player swing the same way.
Every golfer is different. Bodies move differently. Tempo differs. Strength differs. Learning styles differ. The goal is not to force a model onto the player. The goal is to help the player produce better impact, better ball flight, and more confidence in a way that is realistic and repeatable.
Our coaching starts with the ball. The ball tells the truth. If shots are starting left, curving right, flying too low, lacking distance, or feeling inconsistent, those are clues we can work from. We use TrackMan, video, and simple coaching language to help players understand what is happening and how to improve it.
That includes:
Most importantly, coaching should feel encouraging and usable. Improvement happens faster when the player understands what they are doing and why it matters.
Fitting
Too many women have had the same experience in golf retail: limited options, lazy assumptions, and equipment recommendations based more on stereotypes than evidence.
That is not fitting. That is guessing with a sales target.
A proper fitting starts with the golfer. Swing speed matters, but it is not the whole story. Strike quality, tempo, delivery, launch, spin, height, distance gaps, confidence at address, grip comfort, shaft weight, length, lie angle, and overall club feel all matter too.
Some women need lighter clubs. Some do not. Some need more loft. Some do not. Some benefit from different shaft profiles, grip sizes, lengths or head designs. The answer should come from testing and evidence, not from being directed toward the nearest pastel nonsense with "ladies" printed on it.
We start with your current clubs, establish a baseline, and test with purpose. We look for patterns, not isolated good shots.
Better fitting is about making the game easier to play, easier to trust, and easier to enjoy.
And because fitting only matters if the final clubs match the fitted specs, we care deeply about proper build standards as well. Fit properly, build properly, verify properly.
Who It's For
Girls Can Golf is not only for one type of player.
It is for:
For beginners, the right environment matters. Clear instruction, patient coaching and suitable equipment make a massive difference. For improving players, the details matter more: strike patterns, distance control, short game, fitting precision, and confidence under pressure.
At every level, the principle stays the same: player first.
Why Us
At Swing Shack Johannesburg and Stick Paarl, we believe women's golf deserves the same seriousness, attention, and quality as any other part of the game.
That means:
Golf is hard enough already. The process around improving should not make it harder.
"Golf is for you.
Let's figure out how."
